Explore the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park

The Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park is located in the far west of Germany in the Hunsrück mountain range. The newest national park extends across the federal states of Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland.

Erbeskopf Summit Tour

From the National Park Gate Erbeskopf, the group will walk up the highest mountain in Rheinland-Pfalz, the 816-meter-high Erbeskopf. Along the way, you will learn many exciting and interesting facts about the National Park.
Upon reaching the summit, you will get rewarded with the magnificent view of the surrounding area while walking through a walk-in „Wild Sound“ sculpture.

The 2-hour tour is steep in some places, so please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. The route is not suitable for strollers and requires a certain level of fitness.

After the tour, you can visit the interesting multimedia National Park exhibition on the upper floor, as well as the outdoor exhibition at the National Park Gate Erbeskopf. A bistro is available for snacks and drinks.

The outdoor area also features a high ropes course, a trail park, and a summer toboggan run.

Wildenburg Rock Tour

On a hike through ancient forests and bizarre rock formations in the northeastern part of the National Park, you will learn about the geology and history of the region.

Experience the wild beauty of the Rock Path and the Mörschieder Burr rock formations and enjoy panoramic views of the area.
The route is approximately 6 km (3.8 miles) long with narrow and sometimes rocky paths. This tour is not suitable for strollers. Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

After the approximately 3-hour hike, you can also visit the wildlife enclosure, where you can experience the local wildlife on a leisurely stroll.
